Foot

Foot is a fast, minimal terminal emulator for Wayland. This folder holds the config that sets fonts, colours, padding, and scrollback behaviour.

What the config does

  • Font and padding
    • Font: CaskaydiaMono NFM, size 12; bold style size 13.
    • Padding: 20×20.
  • Colours (Catppuccin-style palette)
    • Foreground 8dddea, background 070C0D, cursor and alpha (e.g. 0.40 for transparency).
    • 16/256 colour palette: regular and bright sets, plus extra colours (16, 17) and selection/search/jump-label/URL colours.
  • Scrollback
    • Indicator position fixed, format as percentage.

How to use it

  1. Install Foot (foot).
  2. Symlink or copy this config to ~/.config/foot/ so that foot.ini is used.
  3. Ensure the font “CaskaydiaMono NFM” is installed (e.g. from Nerd Fonts or your distro).
  4. Launch foot or set it as your default terminal (e.g. TERMINAL=foot in your Hyprland/env config).
